Satya Nadella again delivered a master stroke and Microsoft is buying LinkedIn for a whopping 26.3B Dollars!

 Till now Microsoft was having only Softwares which were engaging with customers worldwide, but now they will have a layer of social engagements and professional networking which was missing grom their arsenal!

Let's look at the top acquisitions which stirred the tech World!

DELL buys EMC

Dell purchased EMC for huge sum of $67 billion
(AOL brought  Times warner for $162 but Warner was not a tech company in 2000, it was a media company)

HP buys Compaq


Again a P.C. manufacturing company in the list, HP bought Compaq for $33.6b but it didn't produce great results for the firm and considered as a failure!

Facebook buys Whatsapp

Google buys Nest Labs

Google Nest

Google is a master when it comes to any field, and this acquisition was no different, google acquired nest for $3.2b and started developing new IOT based connected devices for smart homes 

Google buys Motorola Mobility

Google bought Moto for 13.2b and then after 2 years sold it to Lenovo for about $3 billion, you may think that google suffered a huge loss but in fact, google kept all the Motorola's patents which were essential to guard the android ecosystem

HP Buys Autonomy

HP is again in the list with this acquisition worth $10.3b, after the deal was done some serious problem were reported with the accounts of autonomy, fingers were pointed in both direction and the conflict is still far from over!

Microsoft Buys Skype

This was one of the most expensive deal of Microsoft in the leadership of Steve Ballmer. Microsoft spent $8.5b for this famous communication app and also developed it into a business communication solution.



Microsoft buys Nokia

Microsoft spent $7.2 billion on Nokia, this was the worst decision both for Microsoft and Nokia, Microsoft got nothing, and the LUMIA  smartphones are almost dead now!

Yahoo! buys Tumbler

Facebook buys Instagram

Oracle buys Sun Microsystems
