That is really not a joke !but is it Complete ?
I recently came across a research published as a book named The Paradox of Generosity: Giving We Receive, Grasping We Lose and it shows us a new and different picture.
Start giving your money and time away, you’ll be happier for it.
Americans who describe themselves as “very happy” volunteer an average of 5.8 hours each month. Those who are “unhappy”? Just 0.6 hours!
Also, peoples who are very giving in relationships emotionally are much more likely to be in excellent health (48 %) than those who are not (31 %).!
So, Being generous not only makes you happy but you also become more healthy!
The above-mentioned book is written by sociologists Christian Smith and Hilary Davidson, they surveyed more than 2,000 individuals over a 5 year period. 40 families were part of the survey. They tracked their spending habits and lifestyles & even researchers also accompanied some of them to grocery store!!
Let's breakdown The Science behind happiness:-
The Happiness you find in GETTING- any person, place or thing depends on 'that', It's not the complete happiness, it is temporary. as soon as 'that' leaves you, it vanishes.
BUT
when you GIVE- spent your time for others, become generous towards them, you get the real happiness and that lasts..very long!
