2016 has been pretty bad ass and apocalyptic for love. Celebs who once fell in love like it was a fairytale, ended up having troubles in paradise. For the rich and famous, getting divorced is more clichéd than getting married. But these ones really made our hearts sigh. All the big power couples of Hollywood somehow planned their divorce in 2016 and we're like "Were all the stars aligned in a way they shouldn't have or what?"


1. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

 The True Power Royal Couple of Hollywood has recently filed for divorce after being together for almost 11 years and raising 8 kids. When the news came out all hell broke loose on the Internet. Fans couldn't believe if Brangelina is officially not a thing anymore. While Brad Pitt is one step away from being real life Ross Geller. maybe a third time will be a charm for him.

We didn't expect this one to turn sour specially after this bizarre apology video. 



With Amber accusing Johnny of verbal and physical abuse, things got ugly. Although Johnny has denied the allegations, its too early to take sides. They have had a settlement and will most likely put things behind them. 

3. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner

 We didn't see this one coming!!. This out of the world relationship between Batman and a CIA officer was all too beautiful. They called it quits after being together for 10 years. They are raising their 3 children together.
  
4. Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow

This indeed was a match made in heaven. They were together for 11 years. With all the Coldplay songs in our minds and Chris admitting that it's been difficult on him, we couldn't help but wonder why it never lasts.

 5. Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber


 Another mainstream couple which was together for 10+ years, Naomi and Liev have been together since 2005. So guess what? they too jumped on the bandwagon and split.

Just to keep in mind our all time favorite 'ever-lasting' 'live together - die almost together' love couple Johnny and June Cash were both divorcees before they fell for each other. So maybe it wasn't just meant to be for these couples.
